Nancy B. Hersman
Nancy Hersman is a corporate attorney with a particular focus on trademark, copyright and other intellectual property law matters. She began her legal career in 1986 as a corporate attorney with Jones Day, Reavis and Pogue in Washington, D.C. She moved to California in 1989, and moved into private corporate and business law practice while raising her family in Manhattan Beach.
Nancy earned her J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School in 1986 and her B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and in all courts throughout the State of California. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the South Bay Bar Association. Nancy serves on the Planning Commission for the City of Manhattan Beach and is a former Parks & Recreation Commissioner.
Education has always been Nancy’s passion. She served on the Board of Trustees for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District for 4 years, founded MBMS Scholar Quiz, and has spent countless hours volunteering for educational organizations, such as the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation and the Coordinating Council. In 2015, Nancy co-founded a new company, South Bay Educational Consultants, advising high school students on finding the colleges that are the best fit for their interests and passions. Nancy currently resides in Manhattan Beach, California with her husband. She is the proud mother of three amazing, talented and beautiful daughters, who have each graduated from college and are pursuing their own unique passions.
